| The London and Scottish Marine Oil Company (LASMO) is a UK based upstream oil company which focuses on the exploration, development and production of oil and gas. It has several subsidiary LASMO companies which have an international distribution. LASMO’s exploration and production activities are primarily centred on its extensive assets in the North Sea and in Indonesia. The company nevertheless has producing assets and exploration activities around the globe including parts of Africa. LASMO plays a role in the African oil industry through its exploratory acreage in Algeria and through one production field in Gabon. The company has achieved a positive oil and gas test from a well in the Ghadames basin in Algeria and has targeted exploration wells in Libya. |
