Overview
Alucam (Societe Camerounnaise d’Aluminium) is Cameroon’s major company and operates an aluminum smelter at Edea but uses alumina from Guinea. There are bauxite deposits at Minim-Martap and Ngaouanda and rutile at Akonolinga. Gold has also been found in Cameroon.
This industry is regulated by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, P O Box 955, Yaoundeacute;, Republic of Cameroon. The current Minister of Mines and Energy is His Excellency Mr Andre Bello Mbele.
