| The South African Paint Manufacturers’ Association has been in existence for over 60 years. Its main objective is to promote and protect the common interests of its manufacturing members (+- 35). These are representative of approximately 70% of paint and coatings produced in South Africa. It is estimated that close on 200 manufacturers are engaged in coatings manufacture and sales.
The SAPMA runs its own training division: The South African Paint Industry Training Institute (SAPITI), and is closely allied to the Surface Coatings Industry Employers’ Association.In partnership with the Chemical and Allied Industry Association (CAIA), it promotes the ‘Responsible Care’ initiative in the Paint Industry. |
